NCPAH participated in the theme pavilion of “Krishi Mandap” in the on-going 14 days mega event IITF- 2010 to showcase protected agriculture & financial assistance available under GoI schemes on NMMI, NHM & HMNEH. NCPAH stall has been the centre of attraction as live models of Greenhouse, Shadenet House, Plastic Tunnel, Plastic Mulch, Drip & Sprinkler Irrigation Systems were made functional for the visitors. Uses of  plastic crates, punnets, leno bags etc displayed under post-harvest management.
The technical literatures on various plasticulture applications, address of PFDCs, Scheme details on NMMI, NHM and HMNEH, Brochure on NCPAH etc were prepared both in English & Hindi for distribution during trade fair. This week eminent visitors at the stalls were Secretary (A&C), Adtl. Secretaries, MoA GoI, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam, Chairman (ITPO), Jury members, IITF 2010 & senior officials from different Sate Govt.s etc. There was a contingent of media both from print & satellite network (CNN-IBN, CNBC, DD News, Doordarshan, AIR etc) visited Krishi Mandap exhibits and interacted with NCPAH officials to learn about protected agriculture & related GoI schemes.
The pantomime at the entrance of Krishi Mandap plays a skit “ Samadhan” about adoption of horticultural crops such as Mushrooms and Floriculture for raising livelihood options under MoA, GoI schemes. The response of business visitors & delegates in the first five days of the event were overwhelming. They interacted with stall officials to learn more about precision farming method &Â various plasticulture applications to promote & growth of hi-tech horticulture in the country. Some of them have shown interest to meet manufactures’, processors’, Govt. agencies, progressive farmers’, research institutes etc in pursuit of their business ventures.
Farmers’ at the stall appreciated efforts of NCPAH to demonstrate live plants, plasticulture applications and information on various schemes under which financial assistance available along with contact details of Precision Farming Development Centres located in different states. Theme pavilion received nearly 10,000 visitors in the first week of trade fair 2010.
